As the curtain finally draws on the Academic Year of 2016/2017, I must especially thank you for being supportive of all our events, programmes and extra curricular activities which was geared towards making us achieve all we had hoped for towards making our pupils great learners and achievers.
You continue to play a vital role in our ongoing effort to “surpassing every limit” in our ongoing pursuit for excellence and maintaining high academic standards. Thank you!
This session is gone and already our minds are burning with fantastic ideas which will be gradually unveiled as we resume.
Highlights of Activities:
We had several brilliant activities in our various classes and the school at large.
Independence Day was celebrated with a wonderful performance by Year 1 pupils who role modeled their favourite Nigerian Icons from History Class.
We had a grand sports activity in our debut Inter house sporting competition which saw Red house emerging as the winning house. We were also able to strike a deal with the state sporting commission to use the stadium twice a month in the coming terms for our Friday sport sessions.
At the class levels, the Early Years had parents coming in for the “Reading by parents sessions”. It was an opportunity for them to interact with other kids in class while assisting the teacher for the day.
Early –Morning routines, mid-term projects and family projects all took place which made us have an out of the world performance by families during the Monuments Exhibition.
The pupils had fun exploring the world of early men and what life must have been like then.
Other programmes and activities like “Coffee Morning” and school council meeting took place each term to keep parents abreast of school activities and whole school progress.
Science Fair for this session was interesting and kids undertook various hands on projects and thrilled the audience with their presentations/display on volcanic eruption, pop-corn machine, material test, solar system amongst others.
The year 3 replication of notable icons around the world encouraged parental involvement as they were made to judge their kids based on delivery, comportment and appearance.
The End of Term Assessment results and Assessing Pupils’ Progress (APP) will be sent home on or before the 28th of July 2017
Upcoming Projects:
Come end of September 2017 we will be opening our brand new ICT lab and school library; Staff lounge and Year 6 classroom upstairs. It is also our joy to announce that our school is in partnership now with UNESCO centre for global education and our pupils will be engaged in different outings as they compete with their peers globally.
To encourage children to work harder and celebrate deserving pupils, we will be having the Accolades Assembly, come the second week of resumption. Let us partner to honour their efforts.
We have just performed a graduation ceremony for Year 5 kids who will be walking through the gates come September of schools like Loyola Jesuit, Chevyfields, Premier Academy, Navy School, Emerald field, St. Anne’s and Mae Mater having smashed their entrances – we announce again the year 5 kids 2016/2017 surpassed every limit and have left an indelible mark on the sands of time, putting us in an enviable position, making us stand tall and proud. We believe God to see them through all their successes as we command them to Go and Rule! That is the spirit of our great school.

2017 – 2018 Academic Session
Come 2017-2018 session, we will be welcoming back our crèche, Early Years Foundation Pupils (Nursery) and the Reception Mickey pupils who had a grand move up ceremony into Year 1 (Key Stage 1). We are fully ready for all the challenges that is to come.
We therefore implore parents to keep faith with us, no matter the odds and challenges, so that this foundation we have laid can be firmly built up to an edifice.
A French educationist Bob Beauprez has this to say and I quote “ Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations”
George Santayana further asserts that “ A child educated only at school is an uneducated child”
I call on us all today, lets come together and make our children continue to stamp their feet on the sands of time.
The First School Leaving Certificates exam comes up on August 5th. The Year 5 kids will be in school from Monday 31st July to Friday 4th August, for refresher classes from 9am to 12pm each day. Please endeavour to have them come in early on Saturday for the FSLC exams at 8:00am.
Fees Payment:
As a new session begins, fees have to be paid in full to enable every child get his/her supplies on the first day of school.
Where full payment cannot be made, the school allows parents to make at least 70% payment of the fees on the teller slips sent home.
Please make plans to enable your children resume accordingly.
Do have a rewarding break! See you all when we resume on the 11th September, 2017 for the Thanksgiving Term 2017/2018 Academic Year.
